One more win for NYC!

Yo what up?! This weekend I went out to Seattle and once again repped for the Empire State! That's right I brought back a Footwork victory. I'm trying to get a hold of footage but I didn't bring a camera with me so I'm assed out. Me and Kaotic Blaze also got second place for the Bonnie and Clyde. Basically we were the first losers, haha. I hate losing in the finals kid! Hate it! Matter of fact, I hate losing period.

I just started counting my wins and loses since the end of December of 08. I saw that Alien Ness keeps his record so I thought it was a good idea. So I want to make sure I got a good record so I train. Right now I'm at 27 wins and 2 loses. I know if I went back to all the battles I ever did both numbers would be way bigger. But for me to try and remember all of that man, it will be maaaaaaaaaad hard. My memory is not all that. So back to Seattle

So yea the whole Zulu weekend was dope. I got a bigger respect for Zulu after seeing what the 206 Zulu organization was about. I mean the whole weekend was free except for the jump off party which was like $5. That's it. Yo I highly recommend bboys going to this jam next year and the year after that. It was dope. I actually got my ticket for $225. Yup! I don't know if it's the recession or the weather, shit all I know is that I've been getting all my tickets for reaaaal cheap. Even to Toronto. So I happen to go to Seattle the only time this winter that it didn't rain so I lucked out big time. City is beautiful, got to see Bruce Lee's grave, tried their famous coffee, checked out their Pike street Market(their fish market), and other random thing in their downtown section. The locals were cool and the buses are FREE! In the downtown area all the buses are Free.

I checked out the Saturday portion of the 5th Anniversary of 206 Zulu. i guess 206 is the Seattle area code. They had a lot of panels discussing certain issues arising in their community. So that was educational to watch. To see at hip hop event activists pushing to inspire their youth. And they had free workshops for kids doing graff, writing quick lil rhymes and what not. But the bboy workshop had a choice of 4 different bboys. You had to pay but look at the line up. Either learn some history from Trac 2(old school pioneer down with one of the first crews ever, Star Child La Rock), who definitely knows his stuff. Believe that! Poe One (Style Elements who still gets it in), Alien Ness(MZK President). or Remind(Style Elements) who was one of my earliest inspirations. So yea the weekend already was crazy before the main event on Sunday. 3 on 3 for $3000, Footwork for $500, and Bonnie and Clyde for $500. This was the Mighty 4 portion of the weekend. But check this out. This whole weekend was in this area called the Seattle Center where the Space Needle is located. It's the equivalent to our Lincoln Center but with more activities, a bigger food court, and a mini amusement park. It was an official place. Straight up. But the venue for the jam was siiiiiick! yo it was crazy. The wall behind the bboys battling on stage was a projection of what was going on onstage. Crazy!

So yea I get to the venue and see dumb long line around the corner and down the block. Was I going to wait on it? Hell NO! So luckily I saw a shorter line and figured it was for the bboys performing. Lucky me! I was right. So I didn't have to cut somebody or see a friend of mine who did wait and jump on with him. So that was good. Now I had to check my bag so flashbacks of United Styles came back to haunt me. NO! not $4  again. Hey, it was free. IIIIIIght. Seattle is the shit! So I warm up and see my ol' buddie Dial Tone picking on somebody soooooo I jumped in and ended up battling homie. Me and him always go at it. It began at Frenemies 2 Rocksteadys ago. So we would always battle on the side or in the competition and I will always put it on him. Hold up, kid is sick with it, but I always get the best of him. He'll let you know. So once again Kid Glyde put it on that ass! haha. Yo at first Dial Tone was going to work and making work hard but then it turned around. Anyways..... I warmed up and got ready and the footwork battles were after the 3 on 3's.

If we would have had a New York City representing at this jam. I think we would have won. Hands down. Massive Monkees are dope but the finals was close. They were messing up a lil but still beat Battle Born, who to me was messing up a lot more.  Yea even if my crew was there. We would have won that! Gravity, Whorah, and Me. It would be over! I'm telling you New York! It ain't that hard. Get up and get out there! Supreme coulda have won that with their main hit squad easy. C'mon. Jiggz, Ken Fury, and Frankie. Their beasts! So imagine 3 of New Yorks best. Pick anyone you want. I'm sure it would be the same thing.

Unfortunately there wasn't that much comp in the footwork that I was expecting. Except for Smerk and Shadow. Shadow is a new member in Rocksteady and slept on me. So when he went out first he had 2 strikes on him already. One he's Rocksteady, and two his go down mad me feel like he was sleeping on me sooooooo I toasted his ass. Went in for the kill homie! Now Smerk is a different story. He's a veteran in the game and has Style for days. You can tell he didn't train for this but he also fell for my traps. I battled him before and I tell you this it ain't easy. Plus he's from New York and he's down with Rocksteady too. So you know Trac 2 had to point that out. So it was Dynamic Rockers vs. Rocksteady in the finals of the footwork and Bonnie and Clyde. So we won the footwork and they won the Bonnie and Clyde. It's all good.

So NYC next time I'm going on a plane trip to wherever I will holla at you guys and let you know how cheap my ticket is. Stay tuned! Once I get my USB wire for the camera I will have pics up about the trip! IIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!
