Can you see the difference?

I'm sure you can tell the difference. Experienced bboys will know what that is but others will be like 'What the hell is that!'. Its basically fluid in my knee. I can't explain exactly what it is because I am not a doctor and I don't have insurance to go to one. But I am on the works of that. So i'll send info on that later. So yea I know it happend from over using or actually distributing a lot of my weight to that knee. So right now I got this. A week ago this was waaaaaay worse. So imagine that. You see how big this is. Man I don't even want to talk about it.
A lot of bboys get it in their elbows from doing crazy air freezes or elbow tracks or whatever it is your doing on elbows. I don't rock knee pads. Never liked pads. I felt like I was doing a sport than dancing but now it might change how I feel. I love my body so I want to keep it intact for as long as possible and be able to dance as long as I live. That's what I want but reality may be different. So I believe in myself. So if anyone has suggestions on what to do please holler. I would love to get this taken care of as soooooooon as possible. I got a big battle this weekend in philly. The redemption and then the biggest battle BC One. Sooo any advice would help. And once I get it taken care of I'll let you know what I did. Iiiiiight. Dynamic out!

  1. try taking turmeric, it helps with inflammation in general and is also a great anti-oxidant

  2. to nina-thats not inflamation, thats fluid collecting.

u need to get that thing drained and fast. if you let it sit too long it's gonna solidify and become part of your bone structure and then its there permanently. only way to get rid of it then is to file it down which is as painful as it sounds and highly costly. i recommend you get whatever money you have now and get that thing to the doctors ASAP. my boy omar had one in his elbow from, you guessed it, elbow tracks.

  3. Beeftastegood is correct...

here is additional info (which might be a possibility on what is it, Bursitis)... i know for a fact that it is fluid that contains collagen which develops into a solid bone structure. As bboys, we will continue movements that will traumatize our joints (we think we are getting use to it but physiology and psychology are different).
Knowing that you have big events coming up... I would say lay off any movements that will involve knee impact (during practice) and wear a knee pad on that specific knee (when you do practice) just to be extra careful.

I hate the idea of knee pads too but this is one of those times that your body will try to grab your attention and ask for help.
I will try to find out any free/cheap health insurance but that is another topic for this website. Easy Health insurance for bboys...
USA fucking sucks with health insurance.

  4. I think for now you must to try put ice over you knee three times per day. The ice makes the part of your body works in a fast healing. You can buy some medicine muscular anti-inflammatory (here in Brazil, me and my crew use that only in extreme cases that we need to be good quickly). There some anti-inflammatory ointments on the drugstore. And after all, 2 important things: 1)try to take a rest... your knee need time to get better. 2)maybe its time to start think about to use knee pad, it alleviate strokes.

  6. never mind about the cyst or bursitis, my sister studies this stuff and she says the following...

u ripped something in your knee joint and the fluid is leaking out...not something so major, lotsa athletes get it...still need to get it drained tho. i know some hospitals have a program for people with low income and no health insurance where they charge like $15 - $50 dollars for simple procedures...you should check into that. till then dont be so extreme with your knees. and let the knee sack heal.

  7. Looks like you injured your ACL or PCL (ligaments in you knee). Until you see a doctor, use the RICE method. The letters stand for R est the knee, put I ce on it, use an elastic bandage to give gentle C ompression to the knee, and E levate the leg by propping it up above the level of your heart. And its important to move your leg as little a possible. Take over-the-counter pain medication (expecially those with Ibuprofen because it helps reduce swelling). Hope that helps.

  8. As far as I know... from what i studied. Your knee has fluid build up and needs to be drained. As stated by other ppl. What you need to do now, is get it done. There is HHC option at some NYC hospitals. You can google it. Listen, if you havent gotten this taken care of, let me know. Ill see what the hospital i work at can do. email pzacha1@gmail.com

  10. what ever you do keep it wrapped ice it to bring swelling down (for 15 min) then heat it with a pad so you dont feel the pain. make sure you use a Mcaren knee brace with the whole in the middle for the knee cap.. if still swollen (do not ice it) what that does is makes the muscles tighter and can prevent you from bending the knee) see use a tiger balm patch and wrap it DO NOT ICE THE KNEE IF SWOLLEN ESPECIALLY BEFORE A BATTLE OK I GET AM A PERSONAL TRAINER TRUST ME IT WILL MAKE IT WORSE

  11. You did good at Redbull BC, get it checked out, and if you do have fluid in your knee, yeah, you have to get it drained... my mother once had water in her knee, and she had to get it drained.
