Look what I got in a can!

Oh snap! Imagine we has this in the states! We probably do but I
haven't found it yet. So I had to get this and try it out. It's
actually kinda strong. I was suprised. Man I'm having a great time!
Woo hoo!

Watching another Costa Rican sunset with my woman!

Costa Rica comments

Yea boy! Check out the infinity pool I went to on my first day here. Man moments like these make you realize how great life is. I have to thank my wifey for bringing me out here for this wonderful trip. We came out for her yoga retreat where her students come for a vacation but also to do yoga. My girl Kim-lien Kendall also does physical therapy but on a more wholistic scale. She knows a lot about the human anatomy and helps people and her clients to change their movement patterns so they can prevent injuries from unhelpful habits. And also make movements easier and better. Man she has done wonders for me. You won't even believe. But yea she teaches that in her yoga/private lessons. So I'm proud of my woman and that's why we're out here. So this is a pic of our first day eating dinner, watching the sunset! Yea kid! I love life

A lil history of the scene in Brazil

In Brazil after a big ol lunch, Bgirl Nitro took us to this train
station. At this train station she expressed how important this
historical spot was for their scene. This is where hip hop started for
them basically. After watching movies such as Beat Street, Style Wars,
and many others they came here and tried their best to imitate what
they saw. They didn't know the names of these moves so of course they
made their own names. So of course through the years they got better.
There were mainly 2 cyphers. One for the experienced and one for the
beginners.

Once a year they had a major event here where all the bboys from all
over Brazil would ce and jam at this very train station. She said
close to a 1000 probably. See where they would dance was in an open
area that was kinda outside. So it's not like our typical station.
Lol, imagine that in one of our stations. Cops would break that up
real quick. Well that's what eventually happend. Cops finally broke it
up one year and that was that. Just like in the U.S. Our dance is
looked down upon.

For their event Master Crews they were allowed to take photos to
promote their event, but last minute the government turned around and
denied their request, not allowing the images to be used. So this is
their hip hop landmark that was taken away from them. And it is their
dream to bring back the days where they can do an event there or even
just to dance there.

So this was a lil something about the Brazilian bboy scene. When
traveling I find out about their history. So expect all that in my
blogs to come. Yeeaaaaaa Booooooy!<br>

Pics of Brazil

Long over due but here they are.......

Nice lil view of the city on the roof top of where I was staying with Mr. Fe and B girl Nitro. In this view you can see a lil bit of the hood and if you look very carefully you can probably see some of the graff on the buildings. Hard to see though.

My morning and afternoon spot. Real good breakfast and Lunch. Here is where I got a lot of the traditional Brazilian foods here. And the best natural juices ever! Man I had steak and eggs here. Some carne guisado, and real delicious breaded chicken. The rice and beans here were off the chain. Mmmmmm. I miss it already. Damn. My favorite juice here was laranja con acerola. Basically orange and a local brazilian fruit called Acerola.

This is how a lot of the people travel in Sao Paulo. So just about every shop had a bunch of bikes outside like this. You got to watch out for these bikes when your crossing the street. They just pass by when you least expect it. Plus their fast.

This is a 24 hour fruteria. It's a fruit store that's open 24 hours and they have very delicious fruits. The food is eh, ok. But the fruits are good except for their Maracuya. The best Maracuya is in Puerto Rico but they call it Parcha. We call it passion fruit. FYI, that's one of my favorite fruits. This is where I also tried out the Acai cream with bananas. That was real good. I wish we had these in the U.S. instead of 24 hour Mcdonald's. Maybe we wouldn't have so many fat people.

Here is some local graff that I saw on the first day. This is a mural I believe. The whole city is covered with graff. Insane. Yup, yup.

Here is a gorgeous view within a national park. I forgot the name, damn it! But this is where I spent my last day in Brazil. We played around with a lil bit of futbol, went to history museum inside the park. It was a day of just relaxing and chilling. On our way out of the park we saw some young bboys getting it in. We joined them and got down a lil bit. Mr. Fe always has a lil ol' school boom box in his bag so he made sure the music was bumping. Yup!!!!!!

B Girl Nitro, Mr. Fe and Me in front of a big ass radio Prop at the last day of the event. I gave a crew shirt of mine to Mr. Fe. You know the one I always wear. lol. Nah I got like 20 of those maybe. But yea over at the event crews gave me their crew shirts out of respect. I was suprised for real. Over here in NY you got to fight for those but you probably won't get em still.

This is the dance floor where the bboys competed on. This is a dope set up. This event inspired me and also taught me a lot. Oh yea. Evolution New York here we come. Oh snap! But every where else there was nothing but cyphers. On the linoleums or even on the carpet. It didn't matter.

Check out the boom boxes. Yea this is where I got inspired to get my own collection. Tell me the wall of radios ain't dope. This collection came from 4 or 5 different guys who have about 30 to 100 each. Insane. And they all are in good condition.

Check out the tunnels downstairs in the club. haha. Yea this club is dope. The venue was an old factory refurnished into a club. Man I got to find one of these in NY. Remember the Domino Sugar Factory? It's time for a revisit. what do you think?

Yeaaaa! This is an example of their local graff style. Check out how they did that whole building. Crazy right. How do they do these things?

This is a final pic of everybody involved in the Master Crews event. Yes sir. In this pic you can see Poe 1, Wary, Me, Mr Fe, Bgirl Nitro, and a few others involved with the event. Well actually Poe 1 is taking the pic. Ooops, my bad!

A lil something about my Radio

I don't know what happend but my text didn't send with the pic below. So here it is.

Yo check it out! You know it's fresh. Yea I won this bad boy in the 7 to smoke/ king of the hill battle in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They called it something Burn, which is why the word Burn is on it. I love to win trophies especially something like this. I mean I appreciate money too but things like this last forever and are great memories. So yea I battled in this battle to show why I was judging. There were 8 other bboys. All local except for Wary from Dynasty Rockers. Sounds similar to mine, I know. So yea it was dope and fun. The bboys/crowd are really hype. I was tied with a really good local with 6 points so we battled one more time and it was a rap. I won 4 in a row my first time, then 2 my second time. This kind of battle is fun. I love em. Gets the best out of you.

This is the first of many more. I'm hooked on how dope these radios are and I want to start my own collection. Yup, yup! So i'll continue to post em up. Ight. Happy New Year. Hit you guys back up when I get back from Italy!
